Bring an offering and come before him; worship the Lord in the splendour of his holiness"

The Arts - Outreach and Faith
Our church in its simplest form, is a building designed to excite and stimulate the senses, and to lift us as humans to a higher place.
Every element of the Mass is designed to elevate us, whether it be beautiful music and bells to stimulate our ears, incense to stimulate our smell, the forms of liturgy to signify the drawing closer to Christ before the ultimate imtimate act of sharing his body and blood, the church building as we move up the seven steps during the liturgy towards the high altar, or the various art forms adorning the building to stimulate our eyes.
Historically people's homes and places of work were cold, dull and without the media forms we make use of today on a daily basis.
Stepping into a church would lift you into a vibrant and stimulating space that would lift you into another place.
Thanks to our predecessors and the skill of George Gilbert Scott and those artists and craftsmen that built and decorated our Church, we are blessed with a space that accomplishes stimulation of ones senses, something that is frequently commented upon by visitors who step into our Church.
We are blessed to be the custodians of a building which was designed for performance. Consequently our nave and chancel have outstanding acoustics, we have a fine organ, baby grand piano and a platform that is suitable for use as a stage.
As part of our Mission and Social Outreach we make our Church available as a space for the local Community, Univeristies, Choirs and Music Groups. We endeavour that our Church will continue to be used for the expression of art and performance, to the Glory of God whatever the beliefs of those who step through our doors, and encourage more people to enter through our doors and have their senses stimulated by the be beauty that lies within.

King Lear
We welcomed the Theatre of the Dales into All Souls for a production of King Lear as part of their 2016 production tour. We were the only indoor space that they used and this showed how our Church can be utilised with creativity for such performances. We welcomed many new people into the Church for this sweltering summer evening performance, and people were for once appreciative of the cold nature of our building and our supply of cold drinks!
Leeds Male Voice Choir
During September 2016 we welcomed the Leeds Male Voice Choir into our Church for the rehearsal for their upcoming concert at Leeds Town Hall. We enjoyed the sound of their music whilst undertaking our PCC Meeting in the Undercroft.
Yorkshire Collage of Music and Drama
Yorkshire Collage of Music and Drama held their end of term concert for students and parents at All Souls in July 2016.
